  • 'I have only been working with Susie for 3 months but in that time, I've gone from being unable to bend over to pick up a kid's toy to deadlifting the same weights pre-injury.   • ‘I used to be a trainer and worked out at a high level, but it had been a long time with many subsequent injuries over the years. I was looking for someone who had an expertise in physical therapy and strength training to help me get back to lifting safely after a knee replacement.

    Susie has that combination. She developed programs to help me build strength safely and was available when I experienced pain. Her programs are well-organized, have good demonstration videos and she is very responsive when I had questions. I was also going through some difficult times personally and she was emphathetic and encouraging.

    I've worked with personal trainers over the years, none have had the combination that Susie has. It is unique in that she can build a program for you and help you assess your pain and understand how to safely workout.

    My main goal was to get back to strength training, which I did! Susie has a very encouraging, positive and supportive attitude.’

  • ‘I have 3 herniated discs and have been managing them with medication (avoiding surgery) and both knees suffer from patellar maltracking disorder. This makes almost everything in my daily life tough.

    I've done physical therapy throughout the last 10+ years for my back but traditional PT wasn't really the solution for me.

    I had been wanting to get back into the gym and was dealing with back and two knee issues, so I wanted to do it safely and not overwhelm my body when getting back into lifting.

    Emily was amazing! Sending videos of performing the exercises and giving feedback while doing the exercises really worked well for me. We had calls to go over anything that I needed help with. The flexibility to move a session, since I wasn't meeting a trainer, was super helpful. I had an extremely busy travel schedule and being able to shift based on the week, was awesome! I’m under the barbell again and feeling great! I have even started running a little and hope to continue making progress.’

  • In April 2023, I felt a pop in my left hamstring after a workout. After seeing my orthopedist, he gave me a cortisone shot and diagnosed me with proximal hamstring tendinopathy.

    The pain never went away. I went for a second opinion and was told I tore my left tendon and had severe tendinopathy in the right. He suggested surgery on the left and cortisone on the right. He also referred me to another orthopedist who had success with stem cell and plasma injections. I went with that route.

    I saw a local PT a few weeks out and was told I shouldn't/wouldn't do lower body workouts again. I then reached out to MYB with high hopes that Dr. Susie could "fix" my hamstring tendinopathy so I could continue to lift, and she didn't disappoint.

    I am now barbell back squatting and doing RDLS and Bulgarian Split Squats. As my tendons adapt and tolerate the load, we increase it. I'm finally at a point where I don't think about my hamstrings or tendons all day because they don't hurt.’

  • ‘For a year [my knee] just refused to heal. I tried physiotherapy, multiple rounds of anti inflammatories and painkillers prescribed by my ortho, steroid injections, ice, heat, compression, rest…

    I wasn’t too sure on remote rehab, but after working with multiple physiotherapists and still being in pain, I figured I had nothing to lose by giving it a go. Little did I know how that would be the best decision and how much my body would thank me for it!

    After only 6 weeks with MYB, I was already seeing more results than I have with all other interventions since my knee injury happened. I’m now 10 weeks in and have seen drastic improvements in my knees. I’m stronger, more mobile and no longer have random pains popping up.

    The results I have so far give me certainty that my body is becoming more resilient and adaptable and I will be hitting PBs soon enough!
